A Great Effect That is Good for the Environment Too
An experienced screen printer will tell you that the paper you use to screen print on is very important when trying to reach a specific result. One thing to experiment with is to use old newspapers as the paper you screen print on. It not only prevents wastefulness, but also can give your project a twist if you pick pages with interesting stories. Plus, each piece can be unique if you decide to use different pages for each print. We can thank our friends from Dress Code for introducing this tip which I find to be great and useful. Make sure to show us your results after trying this useful technique.

Every day a newspaper shows up on my front porch. More often than not, it is thrown away before even being opened because no one has time to read them. What can one person do with so many newspapers besides recycle them with their other paper products? A man by the name of Sumer Erek decided that he would use his old newspapers as insulation and decoration for a room in his home. This is not something everyone would appreciate as art or like to have in their own house, but if you are artsy and like to find new ways to use old objects this is one way to do it.
Have you ever tried anything like this out or know anyone who has?

The next time you decide to advertise in a newspaper if you, think about spot color. Spot color is the use of one color to add interest to a piece. This draws attention to your advertisement, especially since typically the middle of the newspaper is black and white. This little bit of extra attention brings recognition as well. The main thing to know is that spot color general is not that much more expensive to print than one color so ask your sales representative next time the pricing. And consider the possibilities.
The easiest way to have your spot color is to create your advertising in full color assuming it is lots of photos and then just add your spot color, or design it purposefully in black and white and then add your color.

A newspaper in general is a publication that is published on a regular basis, generally, daily, weekly or monthly and often covers events, crimes, trends, sports, entertainment and much more.
Newspaper use to be mainly just large blocks of text, but over time with the expansion of photography and the digital age of computers they contain a lot more visual information. This visual information is showcased by graphic designers. Typically, newspapers have graphic designers that create page layouts, advertising for clients, graphics, charts or maps that may complement a story, and spice up headlines with varying fonts. Graphic designers who lay out the pages must know how much newshole is needed for a story to be able to fill up the space accordingly, know the storyline, not manipulate images in a misleading manor, and bring the stories to life with their layouts.

What is page layout?
You may be flipping through your favorite magazine, perusing the newspaper, or looking at advertisements. All of these things incorporate page layout, which is one of the biggest elements of graphic design. Every thing that is designed has layout in some form, because the pieces all have to fit together.
The actual action of layout the page is the arrangement of text and graphics to produce creative documents, while the actual layouts refer to the documents themselves that you flip through once the designer published or sent the document to print so that you may enjoy the work.
